15 Ways Magic Shows Up In Your Life (And you didn’t even know it.)

Objects that I consider magical are rocks and anything in nature.

We often equate magic with the airy-fairy or it conjures up images of evil and sinister things. Mostly because adulthood erases the automatic wonder that comes with being children. Also because a lot of the things we knew about magic were either fairy tales or scary Halloween stories that we learned were untrue.

There’s not much room or tolerance in our every day life for the word. But that doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. That doesn’t mean that every single day something magical is happening. It’s just that you’re negating it as something truly special. You can live a life where magic happens or you can live a life where it doesn’t exist. But I think for most of us who are busy or closed, we might not even see it when it’s right in front of us. Take, for example, this list.

  1. Magic is losing a quarter and finding a dollar on the same day.
  2. Magic is a cool breeze when you’ve been walking in a blanket of humidity.
  3. Magic is your friend texting right when you’re about to lose it.
  4. Magic is that day you needed a break and miraculously someone came to your aid.
  5. Magic is when you were thirsting to be alone and you went somewhere that’s normally flooded with people. And there was no. One. There.
  6. Magic is that voice that quietly tells you to get up and walk away, and then a minute later something bad happens. (This really happened to me by the way.)
  7. Magic is giving up on your creative endeavor and then you get a call or an email from someone who loves your work.
  8. Magic is an open door when moment’s ago another one slammed in your face.
  9. Magic is the tree or plant that keeps dying and miraculously comes back to life.
  10. Magic is when someone actually understands you. Not just nods and listens, but really gets what you’re saying and you get tingles in response.
  11. Magic is meeting someone for the first time who spontaneously gives you an answer to a question that’s been haunting you.
  12. Magic is one single day or moment when you don’t feel pain, aren’t anxious or feel like everyone else.
  13. Magic is when your aunt’s best friend’s daughter knows someone who has a friend who is looking for someone like you.
  14. Magic is ordinary days where nothing happens and you feel stuck, but then like a few years later you realize why you were in that situation, in that house/job and couldn’t find anything else.
  15. Magic is when an artist you never met, or a podcaster or a blogger creates something so personal that it makes you cry or laugh, and you feel like they’re speaking to you and you alone.

The closer you are to your purpose, the more you’re aligned with your true self. And the more peaceful and loving you are, and the more open you are to it, the more moments you’ll have like this.

Some people call magic, faith or grace or acts of God. Some people, the really wise ones know that no matter what you call it, it exists. For everyone.
