A Simple Life Changing Exercise

I hope you had the chance to catch Kris Carr’s Healing Cancer World Summit. This free event was meant for cancer patients and caregivers, but there was a plethora of life saving information for everyone. It was one lightbulb moment after another-a truly holistic endeavor to care for your entire being from what to eat to how to truly love your whole self.

One of the pearls I picked up from this online event was an exercise to help determine your purpose and life goal. Since a strong desire to live is essential for anyone struggling with chronic illness like cancer, this was an important part of the healing process.

But it’s also integral for anyone desiring a well-lived life.

And best of all, it’s fun! So let’s do it.

Take a piece of paper. On on side answer the following question:

“What would you do if you had the perfect health, a billion dollars, would live to a hundred and was guaranteed wild success?”

For ten minutes, write down what comes to you in terms of where you would live, what you would do, where would you travel to, where would you volunteer? What house would you live in?

On the other side of the paper, answer the following:

“If I was diagnosed with an inoperable brain clot that would explode without symptoms and nothing would cure you, your finances are good, but you only had a year and half to live. What would you do? Would you work? Would you travel? What would you do with your family and friends?”

After you’re done, find the similarities between your answers. It’s in that middle ground that determines what to focus on. It’s a great thing to do once a year to check in with yourself and help you reveal what you most want to accomplish.
