There are lot of things and people that teach you patience.
Gardening teaches you patience.
Kids teach you patience.
Long lines, babies crying, traveling, insensitive relatives…
Freelance writing, living in Hawaii, working at home. Yep all lessons in the art of patience.
Patience is not easy. But learn it and you will find it to be like a mini vacation. Really. Standing in line will feel like a break, not the cause of a breakdown.
So that’s my mini intention for the day. Discover how to breathe, to take things in deeply.
In the meantime, this little guy is teaching it to me:
Isn’t he handsome? Let’s see another shot.
It’s the Pineapple Ginger Mint Shrub {used as salad dressing, spritzer, and in cocktails} courtesy of Sunset magazine. I just used a reusable napkin instead of a cheesecloth cause that’s what I had on hand. It looks good already. Hope it holds up!
I’m just a few days into this 15-day process. And learning to savor the experience.
{UPDATE: I waited and it was grand. Pineapples went on a tasty pork chop and a splash of juice sweetened up my seltzer water. Guess good things really are worth the wait.}

I’m 5 days in. So far, I haven’t pulled out the pineapples. But they smell mighty sweet. =)
