Reflecting on 2010

There were a lot of things about 2010 that was tough. My dog passed away. My grandfather died. I got sick. Had lots of bad luck with a recent trip.

But there were jewels too.

I had the honor of being interviewed by Cory Clay on her inspirational Rich Ideas radio show. Spent a day learning what it’s like being on Penn & Teller’s show. Was published in magazines, newspapers and a blog on the US News & World Report site.  And recently, I wrote a blog post for Problogger’s Darren Rowse’s new site feelgooder.com. My post will be up on January 5th.

In the midst of one of the most challenging years of my life, both personally and professionally, I finally found and embraced my calling.

It’s the kind of year that broke me open and then carried and lifted me up.

Finding Pearls in the Mud

It’s just a few hours left until the end of 2010.

Many people have given up their dreams. Tossed in the towel. Forgotten about the possibility of magic and miracles.

I hope that this is not you.

I hope that in 2011 you will have bigger dreams, take greater risks and open your heart big and wide even with a chance of it being broken.

Why?

Because it is worth it! The gifts you will get (love, joy, courage) are worth more than rejections, heartache, fear you may experience. Those latter feelings are temporary. Don’t let them control your life.

We may have lived on this earth for awhile. But we don’t know everything yet. We haven’t made a dent in the world. And there’s still much more digging to do.

A 2011 Gift

Dream big. Be courageous. Offer up your whole being to the world. They deserve your gift as you deserve theirs. I hope that in 2011 you know your worth and you share that knowledge with the world!

Thank you for reading my hope, vision and inspiration in the form of this blog! I had a vision to educate others on the importance of being inspired and following their dream and it has taken me farther than I ever had imagined.

I hope we will continue on this journey together in 2011.

Happy New Year!
