Summery Updates

Summer is just around the corner. Although it’s admittedly hard to spot the difference in Hawaii, there are ways to infuse your home with subtle seasonal shifts through affordable decor.

Take this, for example.

There are a few changes I made to our guest bathroom that costed under $40. Can you guess what it is?

A simple plant refresh, thanks to Mr. Aloe breaks the monotony of a perennial Hawaiian summer with air purifying qualities and healing ones too. I add the gel to my smoothies and it’s also a quick and natural balm for cuts and burns.

The second add is that beautiful white three shelf cabinet. You won’t believe where I found it! At around $30, I snagged this beautiful find at Ross. I booted our previous bamboo version for this one. Since it’s meant for outdoors, I’m hoping it will be just as durable inside.

My last exciting discoveries were also Ross treasures.

Have you seen those so in right now, trendy chairs with woven nylon cords? This one sells for $199 on sale. It looks terribly uncomfortable, but it feels like you’re sitting in a glove.

Well I found a lime version at Ross for $39.99. Granted I wasn’t sure if the color would work in my son’s room. But surprisingly it was the perfect add to his transitioning into a big boy room. And this adorable Farmer’s Market storage cart ($19.99) completed his new reading nook. My son loves to push it around and it’s great for picking up books and toys.

A new celery and strawberry plant rounded out my summer purchases.

What about you?

How are you transforming your decor from spring to summer?
