What We Can Do Now

It’s a question I think we’re all being called upon.

Many of us are using our skills and resources and dispersing them freely. Because we’re all in the same boat, compassion and empathy flow in rivers where it didn’t before.

We’re being called to rise up, stand together, and pull forth the gifts we’ve been given.

So while you’re at home and reading this, and you’re scared and terrified of this world we’re currently living in, ask yourself, what gift was I given and how can I use it to make a difference?

There’s never been a more important time to ask these questions.

The answers might not come quickly. It may require patience, constant prayer or moments of silence and meditation.

Or the answer may be LOUD and CLEAR because it’s been whispering inside of you for years, but you were too busy, too driven, and too concerned about keeping up with the status-quo to listen.

But now is the time.

While you are waiting for life to return to normal, which may never happen, you are being asked not to store food and hibernate. You’re being called to bring forth your gifts.

It may look so small and insignificant that you may not recognize it as something worthy of a calling. But these tiny steps hide significant power to its receiver.

Things like sewing masks for your local hospitals. I found this template here, but there are videos and tons of other how-tos if you do a quick online search.

I know the Blood Banks are in need of blood now during this Pandemic.

If you have a skill in teaching, there are free courses like this one on how to teach English online.

There are nonprofit organizations seeking donations right now like these.

If you need help excavating your purpose, I’m here for you too. Send me an email and I’ll answer any questions you have. I’m open to using my skills right now to help you so please ask away.

If you need support in teaching your kids, which is a thing right now, there’s a class for that here. In my last newsletter, I sent a whole lot of activities to entertain your kids, if you want to sign up, you can send me an email or sign up on the right.

Let’s make sure this challenge we’re facing does not go unwasted. There is no way we could keep living the way we were living. I hope we can use this time to be conscious of our wasteful culture, to be aware of how we’re living and treating each other. Something huge needed to happen for us to get beyond our own lives to wake up to how we’ve been hurting the environment and how in turn we’ve been hurting ourselves.

Life is more than collecting things and building a career.

This one opportunity to live and breathe and walk this earth deserves more than simply to create wealth so we can enjoy it all to ourselves.

This is what I hope this pandemic will change in us-a conscious, global awakening of why we’re here and what we’re here to do.
