Dear Reader,

I’ve been thinking a lot about you lately. How all the holiday to-dos are piling up and you’re feeling it under the weight of all the Christmas parties, school events and perfectly wrapped presents.

The more you do the deeper the hole you’re in. The further you go to please everyone else, the farther you are from your own dreams. The days will fly and you’ll be right here where you were last year.

Stuck.

Only you’re another year older with another year’s worth of debt and emotional deficit.

I don’t want you to be at this very same place indulging in the holiday goods so you can temporarily forget all that you didn’t accomplish the year before.

One day you’ll wake up and you’ll just be old not older and your dreams will feel like a faded memory. A once, but never was.

Soon the voice that tells you to keep doing that soul killing job will grow weary. Soon you will feel the weight of time pressures. Soon the kids will be grown and everyone else will have pursued the thing they always wanted to do. And you’re still here. Stuck. Uncertain. More afraid that you’ll never get there.

I’m not writing this to depress you. I’m writing this because I know it’s what you’re already thinking and I know how to help you. Life like toddlers can easily suck out the best of you and there will always be a legitimate reason to not do the thing you want to do.

You need more money.

You need more time.

You need a guarantee that you won’t belly flop fail.

But what if big change starts with small habits? What if you could pursue what you want and it wouldn’t take sacrificing a whole lot? What if you could start today? Now.

And what if, it could really happen. That what you’re dreaming of is not some fantasy, but a vision of your future.

The only difference between where you are now and want to be is your belief. And that’s something that can be shifted if you commit to trying this. Do you have two minutes?

On Insights at the Edge, Sounds True founder Tami Simon interviewed Atomic Habits author James Clear. He says that if you can commit to doing something for 2 minutes, you can act as the person you want to become. By doing one thing for two minutes, you are taking action required to fulfilling your dream.

For two minutes, you can show up to the gym. For two minutes, you can sit your butt down and blog. For two minutes, you can work on your book.

Over time you’re not just acting like a writer or an athlete, you’re doing the work it takes to become the person you aspire to be.

You + work = Your dream job

Are you willing to do this?

Are you willing to spend just 2 minutes working on your book, writing a blog, or researching what you’re really love to do?

The people I’ve coached lost 10+ pounds, ended toxic relationships, moved, started a new coaching business and revised her book. Here’s what one client said:

“I wanted to take time to thank you for giving me the support and encouragement to discover the courage to follow my new passion. Without your coaching sessions, I would have never pursued my dream to publish my upcoming book, become a certified professional life coach and plan my online course to moms who want to learn how to let go. Brandi’s been blessed with an amazing talent to connect with people. I’ve learned so much about parenting, marriage and communication skills.”- Private tutor & Certified Professional Life Coach

You can do this. I’ve seen it happen time and time again.

What are you committed to doing?

I’d love to hear what you’re going to commit to for just two minutes. Comment below and/or share it on Twitter with the #2minutecommitment
