I talked to LIST Sotheby’s International realtor Yuki Schenkenberg Takenaka (a.k.a. Hawaii House Whisperer) in charge of the remodel and host of the upcoming before and after house parties about it, and had a chance to see the house myself. If you want a little sneak peek, here’s a quick update about what she had to say about the space and what you can expect this Friday.
TIB: Why did you choose to do a big event at this particular house?
YST: The reason I chose this house is because of its almost 3000 sq ft of space, which I could envision with a brand new kitchen, updated baths and its very inviting floor plan.
TIB: Cool idea to have a before and after party! How’d you get it?
The idea for a BEFORE and AFTER party was inspired by the Mililani neighborhood. Mililani has many models that are the same and a lot of people come to open houses just to see how others have remodeled or updated their homes. Sometimes, I see homes that have been remodeled but not redesigned and I think that hinders the sale of their homes. The BEFORE and AFTER parties will give the public an idea and appreciation for why and what I did so they too can get inspired. And, after all. who doesn’t love BEFORE and AFTERS?
